I am very interested to hear about this word in Turkish – ‘miskin’ = ‘lazy’! After I named my cat Myshkin (after a character in a Russian novel which I read in English translation) my Russian friend explained to me that it means ‘mouse’!

In one language he is lazy and in another he is mouse! I think that’s very true to his unique personality. When he goes off to sleep in my clothes he reminds me of a mouse and as we all know, house cats can be very lazy, so it’s a perfect name!

Happy labour day to you also, my friend! It’s easy too fall in love with pictures of my friend Myshkin, as he is quite a handsome brute, but I must tell you what a lot of trouble he causes with his taste for chewing on things he shouldn’t!

No one can leave a pair of laced shoes out on the floor overnight unless they want to find them chewed through in a dozen places by morning! He had a very dangerous habit of chewing through wires and cords which had us rather worried for awhile. He seems to have given up that particular snack but not before he had a very long chew on the power cord for my laptop!

Recently, he took up chewing on the heels of all the nice shoes I bought for work. Sigh.

On the other hand, he is a very friendly ‘person’. He also loves to play “fetch” just like a lot of dogs do, and it makes me wonder if he might be a bit of a dog in a cat’s body… lol …who knows?

You should see what my desk(s!) at home look like! Yikes! As we say in English; “Life is messy… or …You’ve got to break some eggs to make breakfast.”.

People who enjoy the learning process as much as I do make my job a lot more like fun than work. Thank you all for that.
